A good way to prepare prunes so you can stay regular in light of surgery and meds

Put the prunes in a pot with water to cover, or half water and half
prune juice (which you can get in the non-refrigerated juice aisle).
Simmer these until they are very soft, stirring regularly. They should
be juicy; i.e., there should be liquid left over in the pot with them.
They are quite pleasant eaten with a piece of whole wheat bread and
butter or some whole wheat crackers, or a bran muffin (maybe from the
Bee Bell Bakery).
