There was an old lady who swallowed a fly . . .

Just got a delivery from Whatthebook.com a Korean book dealer which delivers for free (within Korea) if your order is over a 25,000 won (thereabouts)! The big hit was There was an old lady who swallowed a fly .

The second favourite was If you give a mouse a cookie .

Coming in for a close third was David goes to school.

I searched Youtube for the Old lady who swallowed a spider song as I couldn't find anything by Googling it. We found three good videos which you'll no doubt need to download if you ever want to see them again.

Downloading is simple, just go to Savevid.com  and past in the video url from youtube and click 'download' and then click 'Save as mp4' (higher quality) and then you have it on your computer!

Even though the sound quality isn't so great this was by far the best musically, and will probably stick around for a while as it's provided by webster public library :

This one was narrated and sung by Cyndi Lauper. Actually, musically, it was blah but the animation of the first part fit nicely with the book (same book that I just got):

Another good one that we found was Mauric Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are  narrated with animation. This choice wasn't an 'Old lady that swallowed a fly' choice because all the other options were so bad, the wording of this song is actually not so great and so it's tough to sing it well:

I'm not a huge fan of the 'book made into a video' idea as books are great in themselves but as a way of helping the kids to learn through repetition that doesn't seem repetitive, it can be helpful!
