Raining Like Sweet Jesus

I guess it's still rainy season here as it's been raining all night and it's still pissing down. It's just after 8am and it's still so dark from the rain that our kids are still asleep even though they've been accostomed to awake at 5 or 6.

I suppose they might be tired out as we let them play for a good 2 hours at the 'crooky tree play area' in Homever. Abigail went up those stairs and down that slide all by herself a good 4 or 5 times and Gabi must have done the same 20 or 30 times. Not to mention running about and playing somewhat with the other kids there.

Rosi and I have been going for walks in the cool mornings, yesterday we found a lovely path through the hills just beside our apartments. We walked for about one and a half hours and felt like we'd had a nice hike since the paths undulate like any good hiking path would. My back is a bit sore today and it is releived nay overjoyed that we may have to postpone today's hike because of rain. I'd been carrying Gabi in a mountain carrier (backpack baby carrier) along with the diapers and water and some milk and near the end of the walk I was feeling like my back might complain quite a lot in a few hours time. Well, it's complaining a bit now but not in the way that a bad back complains -- thank god -- but it's complaining in the way that a few sore muscles might complain the day after a good but perhaps a bit too strenuous of a workout.

I do hope that nothing will happen to jigger our new sleeping pattern. Ever since we returned from Canada the kids have been turning in at around 7 or 8 pm and rising at around 5 or 6 am leaving mom and dad lots of time at night to do the things that moms and dads should do when their kids are sleeping. Before our trip to Canada the kids went to bed at about the same time that I did as I'd always been getting up at around 5, working early at this and that and coming home all tired and ready to crash at around 9 or 10 pm.
