Bombardier Aerospace holds a Standdown for Safety

“[Aircraft] Deliveries industry-wide have more than doubled in the past three years, creating a need for improved training in the international market,” said Safety Standdown fundamentals speaker and Bombardier Learjet chief pilot David Ryan, at a Sunday press conference about the event.

Together with the Standdown Bombardier offers a seminar . . .
The seminar is free and it is open to all pilots. In fact, approximately 50 percent of the pilots at the U.S. standdowns are not from Bombardier. They also emphasized that the “knowledge-based” seminar is by design not a marketing event.
Introduced at Sunday’s press conference was Bombardier Business Aircraft’s new senior v-p of customer experience, James Hoblyn. Guest speakers included EBAA CEO Eric Mandemaker and NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. Subjects discussed included: Safety Standdown Fundamentals by Ryan; Professional Airmanship by Dr. Tony Kern, CEO and president of Convergent Knowledge Solutions; Fatigue Countermeasures, Dr. Mark Rosekind, president of Alertness Solutions; and Advanced Aerodynamics by Sean Roberts, formerly of the National Test Pilot School.
This year’s U.S. Safety Standdown is scheduled for October 21 to 23.
