The Open Prosthetics Projects

An open source community is developing technology to make advanced prosthetic devices available -- together.

Open up your CAD (Computer Aided Design) and make an arm that a young child in need is dreaming about. Put together a prosthetic arm for a few hundred dollars instead of the tens of thousands that you would have needed before Open Source came to the world of prosthetics.

Read more about this on the open prosthetics website, including instructions for making trainer limbs for your child -- OpenProsthetics.org

Here is an introduction to the Open Prosthetics movement on Wired news.
