horizontal showers are great

Just finished a horizontal shower in the river. The river is quite a bit lower now than it was during the rainy season last October so it isn't quite as pleasant as it used to be, but it's still cold and refreshing.

Yesterday we showed the printout from the ultrasound to the doctor at the hospital and she gave our unborn baby (Charlize?) the bill of health thus far in her development. Nowadays we are doing the usual stuff for a rural area. When the Sun sets at six we start to have dinner and then we relax and play cards or a game. Sometimes some of the local people pop by and ask us to show a movie which I gladly play on my laptop for them. Then we go to sleep and wake with the sun.

I have no idea what time it is when we get to sleep but I usually note that it's about 7 or 8 am when we get out of bed. Rosi and I have been missing each other quite a lot over the last few months so the time gap between waking up and actually getting out of the bed is fairly large. Luckily for us somebody always plays some good dance songs on the VCD player so we don't have to worry about disturbing the neighbourhood with the sounds of the creaking bamboo 'springs' on our bed.
